Activities of the academic year 2018-2019
To inculcate the ideas of peace in the youth for the practice and promotion of health-services, our YRC volunteers are made to cultivate and maintain a spirit of friendly helpfulness. Twenty five volunteers participated in the “May I help You” programme in Collector Office campus, Nagercoil, on Mondays , from 02-07-2018 to 30-07-2018. 50 students did the mass Cleaning Campaign Programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Anandanadarkudiyirrupu on 27-07-2018. Four YRC volunteers donated blood in the Blood Donation Camp organised on 02-08-2018 at the Revenue Department , Nagercoil. Among 50 students , P. Vaishna of our College won the prize at the district level Geneva day Competition , held in our college on 08-08 2018. Kerala Flood Relief fund was given to the people at Collector Office , Nagercoil on 20-08-2018 by 50 students.17 students donated blood in the blood donation camp organised on 02-09-2018 by our college. 300 students participated in the Breast Cancer Awareness Programme which was organised by our college on 12-09-2018. 4 volunteers were awarded for donating blood 3 times in a blood donation camp organized by Holy Cross College, Nagercoil.
Nelavembu Kashayam was administered to more than 1000 students of our college from 29-10 -2018 to 31-10-2018. Kaja Cyclone relief fund was distributed to Uppukarai Colony, Pudukottai by 15 students and 2 staff members on 20-12-2018. 200 students participated in a one day First Aid and Disaster Training Programme which was organised by our college on 11-01-2019. Road Safety Awareness Programme was organized on 07-02-2019 in our college and 300 students participated.55 students and 2 staff members participated in the Road Safety Awareness Campaign on 08-02-2019 from Collector Office to SLB School, Nagercoil. More than 1000 students participated in the Eye camp organised by our college on 15-02-2019.
7 volunteers participated in YRC day celebration in Scott Christian College, Nagercoil on 15-02-2019. P.Vaishna, III B.A. English was selected at the state level in the Oratorical Competition held on 02-03-2019 at Red Cross Road, Egmore, Chennai. Our YRC volunteers thus, have always played a protective role in imbibing and spreading medical, health and social consciousness among our students and the general public
