The cross at the centre of the emblem signifies the redeeming love of Jesus Christ. The rising sun at the top speaks of the eternal blessings of God and the dove with the olive leaf symbolizes the peace this institution perpetuates. The waters represent the confluence of the three seas that surround this district. The sheaf of paddy represents Nanjilnad which has an agricultural background. The woman seated on the floor making lace reminds us of the economic liberation of the women of this area and their share in the building of the educational institutions. The lighted lamp is reminder of the primary duty of the institution in spreading the light of knowledge and preparing young women to go into the world to serve. The lotus which is the national flower of India signifies the Indian heritage.
