History Research
The Research Centre of the Department of Chemistry was established in the year 2012. At present 13 scholars are perusing their Ph D work. The research carried out in the Department is oriented towards the applied end of the research spectrum.The Research Department is mainly concentrating on polymer chemistry and environmental chemistry. Hence most of the results are of direct relevance to the needs of the society at large.
Objectives
- To impart a foundation of chemistry of sufficient breadth and depth to enable them to understand and critically interpret the primary chemical literature
- To disseminate knowledge on the interdisciplinary nature of chemistry and to integrate knowledge of mathematics, physics and other disciplines to a wide variety of chemical problems.
- To enable the Students to use presentation tools to create effective tables, graphs, and chemical structures
- To learn the laboratory skills needed to design, safely conduct and interpret chemical research
- To enable the students to use chemicals without harming the environment

 | Dr. V.Gnana Glory Kanmoni M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D.(Rtd.) | Dr. V.Gnana Glory Kanmoni entered into service in this institution in the year 1986. Her research is based on photochemistry and her area of specialization is Analytical chemistry. She has published many papers in International journals like Springer and has attended various national and international seminars. She is a recognized Guide in M. S. University. At present, she is serving as guide for three Ph.D scholars and co-guide for one Ph.D scholar |

Her area of interest is Analytical Chemistry and Nano Chemistry. She is a recognised Guide in Chemistry and three scholars are doing Ph. D under her guidance. She has published 6 papers in reputed national and international journals |

She has published many papers in reputed journals. At present, she is serving as guide for four Ph.D scholars. |
 | Dr. K.R.Sheeja M.Sc., M.Phil.Ph.D(SET) | Dr. K.R.Sheeja was awarded Ph.D. in the year 2015. Her area of research is Polymer Chemistry. She passed SET Exam in the year 2016. She has 9 Years teaching experience in UG , PG and M.Phil level. She guided four M.Phil scholars successfully. She published three papers in National and International level. She got Guideship from June 2018. At present, she is serving as guide for two Ph.D scholars |

She was awarded with her doctoral degree from Manonmanium Sundaranar University on 23.05.2016. Her area of specialization is Polymer Chemistry. She guided five M.Phil scholars successfully. She has published many papers in National and International level journals. At present, she is serving as guide for one Ph.D scholar and co-guide for one Ph.D scholar. |

She has published one research paper in National and three papers in International journals. Also she has presented five research papers in National conferences/seminars. Dissertation guidance given to four M. Phil students and many M.Sc students. She has participated more than twenty National/International conferences and seminars |

She has published 3 papers in international journals and 4 papers in national journals. She has presented 4 papers in international and national conferences/seminars and attended many as well. She has been serving as peer reviewer in many international journals for chemistry. She is an active member of research committee since 2012.She is interested in carring out innovative research in chemistry. She has successfully guided 1 M.Phil and 20 M.Sc scholars. |
 | Dr. N.J.Sangeetha M.Sc., M.Ed., M.Phil., Ph.D | Dr. N. J. Sangeetha, has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry. She took her Doctoral degree in 2016. Her Research Topic entitled, “Studies on Some Novel Polyurethane Composites based on Natural Products”. She has published 10 papers in different National and International Journals. She has presented 7 papers in various conferences/seminars. She has attended 5 conferences/seminars too. She has published 2 books. At present she serves as the Research Guide of the M.S. University and guiding 4Research Scholars. |
