Student′s Council

Manonmaniam Sundaranar University has established a Students′ Council in 2008. Being an affiliated college (Women′s Christian College, Nagercoil) under this university, our college Students′ Council is making rapid strides in its activities.


  • OBJECTIVES

  • 1.To provide leadership training and bring out the latent talents of the students.

  • 2.To promote cultural and intellectual co-operation among the students.

  • 3.To make the students enlightened citizens by arousing their civic consciousness.

  • 4.To strive to develop character, discipline, sense of responsibility, honesty, integrity and efficiency among the students .

  • 5.To organize meetings, debates, symposia, seminars, and study circles which will involve students participation.

  • Report 2017-2018

    The Student′s council of our college functions with the objectives to provide leadership training and bring out the latent talents of the students and to promote cultural and intellectual co-operation among students. It also strive to develop character, discipline, sense of responsibility, honesty, integrity and efficiency among the students.

    The election of the office bearers to the students′ council for this year was conducted on 11.08.2017 and the following students were elected.

    The Installation and swearing in ceremony of office bearers was held on 12.09.2017 with Bijoy as the chief guest. Mrs. O.C.Geetha welcomed the gathering. Principal Dr. Nirmala Manuel gave the presidential address and presented the office bearers with badges and mentle sash. The office bearers took their oath and lighted candles to mark the service that they would be doing to the students community and the society at large. Ashika, the chairperson of the students′ council proposed the vote of thanks.

    Teachers Day was celebrated in a grand manner. The students presented gifts to their teachers as a token of their gratitude. Students organized debate, speech, song, poem etc.

    The Students′ Council contributed a sum of Rs. 50000 towards the medical expense of Ms. Vaishnavi who met with a fatal accident.The Students′ Council also decided to help a poor woman to construct house of her own.The Councelling Cell organized two programmes with the financial support of Students′ council.Women′s Studies Centre also organized Women′s Day Celebration with the financial support of Students′ Council.
