    The Rotaract Club of Women′s Christian College is a community-based club sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kanyakumari District. It was authorized in the year 1975 under its first club president Rtr.Sujatha which was founded to develop effective leaders and promote responsible citizenship. We believe for those who are led to think boldly and affect real change, Rotaract provides the premier leadership development opportunity. It is currently a well-established youth organization, committed to serving society towards a holistic development.

    Vision

    Through our fellowship, club members diverse bank of knowledge and connection in the greater community the Rotary Club of Women′s Christian college seeks to encourage leadership quality and to identify areas of need and pool our resources to their most effective advantage. The outcome of which results in support of youth and aged people.


    Objectives

    • 1. To develop professional and leadership skills
    • 2. To emphasize respect for the rights to others, based on recognition of the worth of each individual
    • 3. To recognizethe dignity and value of all useful occupations as opportunities to serve
    • 4. To recognize practice and promote ethical standards as leadership qualities and vocational responsibilities
    • 5. To provide opportunities for personal and group activities to serve the community and promote international understanding and goodwill toward all people

    Activities 2017-2018

         The Installation ceremony of the Rotaract Club was held on 26.07.2017. The new office bearers took charge of their responsibilities. On this auspicious moment financial aid was given to Miss. Mary Divya of I B.Com, Miss. D. Ashwini of I B.A. Economics and Valliammal, a visually challenged old student of our college.

         In association with the Rotaract club of Chennai Spotlight, saplings were planted in our college on 30th August under the project named "Need Tree".

         On 15th September, Benjansingh Eye Hospital organized a rally to create awareness on Eye donation. 115 Rotaracts of our college took part in this rally.

         On 27th September blood donation camp was organized. Five of our students took part in the camp and donated blood.

         In an awareness programme organized on 14th October, Dr. Anitha from Benjansingh Eye Hospital gave useful hints to prevent blindness and also tips to take care of eyes.

         On 22nd December Rotaractors celebrated Christmas day with Orphan children and cut Christmas cake and distributed sweets to all children in the orphanage.

         On 6th March the Rotaract club along with the Society for Law, Justice and Development organized an awareness programme. The Deputy Collector of Kanyakumari District, Mrs.C.BhavaniJeeja explained about the means and methods of applying for scholarship and receiving the same.

         On 15th March, Rotaractors took part in the celebration held at the Rotary Community Hall Nagercoil, to commemorate "World Rotary Day".

         A medical camp was organized on 21.03.2018. Eye check up was done by a team from Shankar Nathaliya. Dental check up was done by doctors from Raja′s Dental College and Hospital. 812 students were benefitted by this camp. On 22nd March, teaching and non-teaching staff were given free eye check up.
