    Providing guidance, training and job opportunities to students through training programmes and recruitment drives.


  • Objectives


  • The aim of the Placement cell is to provide a platform for our students to interact with schools, colleges, other teaching institutions, banks corporate companies and any other organisation in need of human personnel.

    Keeping in mind the aspirations and career ambitions of the students, the Placement Cell was established in the year 2006 with an aim to train the students and raise their employability.


    The Placement cell provides a platform for interaction between organisations desirous of providing recruitment opportunities and the students who are interested in either part time employment while studying in the college or full time jobs when they graduate from the college.


    Orientation programmes about employment opportunities and the need to enhance skills are given to final year students. Whether they are on a career track, or in the process of determining which career they would like to pursue, the placement cell has training opportunities for final year students of all academic disciplines.


    Institutions and Companies that have recruited from our college in the last few years are SRV Higher Secondary Schools, Rasipuram & Samayapuram, Goan Institute of Communicative English(GICE), Goa & Cochin, White Lake Technologies, Nagercoil, Dreamzone, Nagercoil, WIPRO Technologies for its WASE, WISTA & WIMS programmes, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), UST Global Technopark, Trivandrum, Redegg Info Expert, Nagercoil, A to Z Technologies, Chennai and Bytes Flow Technologies, Chennai.


  • Placement Report 2017 - 2018


  •     Campus recruitments are an integral part of an institution of higher learning. It is a programme within an institution that creates a platform for students and organisations to interact and get the best vantage from each other. Although the college has predominantly undergraduate programmes and a large majority of the students are keen to pursue their postgraduate studies, still there are a cross section of the students who envisage a keen interest in campus recruitments. Our regular recruiters, the SRV group of institutions, Rasipuram and The Goan Institute International Consociation of Education Pvt. Ltd. [GICE] Cochin were on the campus to recruit students for their respective organisations. Students desirous of a job enthusiastically participated in both the campus recruitments. In an off campus interview by RMS International School (CBSE), Panagudi, students from the departments of Maths & Computer Science participated.


        A job fair for the entire District of Kanyakumari organised by the District Employment office in March on the campus and it was a major recruitment opportunity for all the college going students of the District, Arts and Science as well as Engineering graduates. Over 25 companies participated in the fair interacting with potential candidates. Over 250 appointment orders were handed over to the students by the District Collector.


        The SRV group of institutions conducted their interviews in the campus on February 26, 2018. 64 students from the departments of Physics, Maths, English Tamil and Chemistry participated. Students are expected to lecture for at least 12 minutes on topics of their choice and are subject to intense scrutiny by the interviewers (a panel of experts in the subject). The following students were selected as PG/UG teachers: U. Vishali and T. VIji Gowsalya from III B. A . Tamil, M. Lavanya from the II M.Sc Maths, S. Anisha Biala of III B.A. English and M. Maria Jelsy Priya and S. Sushma of II M.A. English.


        The The Goan Institute International Consociation of Education Pvt. Ltd. [GICE] Cochin conducted their campus interview on March 1, 2018. 58 students participated and 31 students were shortlisted and 6 students who were joining their institution for the academic year 2018-2019 and who attended the orientation programme at Cochin on April 14, 2018 were handed their appointment orders. The students who received their appointment orders are: S.P. Ashika, R. Cynthia Jislin, D.Dharshila, S.E.Karanya, R. Abisha Kasturi, N. Seethalakshmi and J.M. Sahaya Libya.


        The Placement Cell places on record the efforts taken by the management and the institution to provide recruitment opportunities for the students of the college every successive year. Our best wishes to all students who have secured jobs through the Placement cell. I′m sure they will uphold the values learnt and keep the flag of Women′s Christian College flying high.
