Fine Arts and Youth Welfare is a vibrant division in our college that works consistently for the welfare of the students of our college. It constantly motivates and empowers the young minds by facilitating their personality velopment and also to exhibit their talents. It promotes various aspects of student welfare such as cultural festivals, competitions and talent show. Moreover, it helps the students to be aware of the traditional and various cultural practices prevailing in the society. It imbibes the spirit of participation and determination.
The committee functions well under the Convenor Dr. J.M.Anusha Lahi, Co - convenor Mrs. T. Tiruptika and 17 staff members from various departments.
This year several students participated in various competitions in other reputed colleges and won prizes. The cultural events like Folk Dance, Western Dance, Mime, Poetry narration, Ad-mad were staged in the Book Fair at SLB School, Nagercoil on 27-02-2024 and were appreciated.
The competitions of WIDFAC- 2024 is conducted with the theme of "Youth as Victims of Media". On stage and Off stage competitions were conducted. These competitions would enhance the creativity, crafting and keen observation skills of the students.
The Fine arts and Youth Welfare day was held on 10th April 2024. The Principal in-charge Dr. D. Usha presided over the meeting. The Correspondent, Dr. J. Asir Packia Singh felicitated the gathering. Students from various departments showcased their skills through various competitions. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions. The U.G. Department of English won the overall trophy for this year.
With the abundant grace of God, the support of management and the co-operation of committee members and students, the academic year 2023-2024 proved to be a fruitful year with all the above said programmes, activities and events.
Fine Arts Committee
Fine arts and youth welfare committee organized the fresher's day and talent show on 07.10.2022 around 85 students participated in this programme. The lists of programmes are dance, singing, mime, mono act.
