  • The mission of the Personality and Counseling Cell is to enhance the quality of life of studentsby promoting committed staff to meet the specific needs of individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

    1. To identify students with problems and helping them to help themselves
    2. To motivate the student to grow with the right positive attitude
    3. To guide the students to work with a long term goal

      • Regular orientation programme for freshers
      • Frequent counseling programme for U.G and PG students
      • Regular counseling programme for outgoing students
      • Maintains individual mentoree records for students
      • Regular  visit to the hostel during the weekends

      Report 2017-2018

            An orientation programme was conducted for all the First year UG students on 29.06.2017. Rev. CharletSoundarajan, resource person gave the special lecture to the students on “moral values”. The faculty who are members of the counselling cell engaged themselves in conducting the various sessions. Dr. T.N. Suseela, Department of History, Women′s Christian College, Nagercoil gave an introduction about the History of the College, the General Discipline and the rules and regulations to be followed inside the college campus.

           A legal literacy and awareness programme (family welfare laws) was conducted for all the students on 15.09.2017 between 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Mr. John R.D. Santhosam, Chairman, Permanent LokAdalat, District Judge was the resource person. The students were benefited by the programme.

          A counsellingprogramme was conducted for all the First and Second U.G students on 17.02.2018. Dr. Suganth Rabin Daniel, President of Christ Harvest Mission was the resource person. He gave a talk on “Self-Discipline” – The key to success.

          A counseling programme for the outgoing students was conducted in the Seminar Hall for all the Third year UG and Second PG students on 10.03.2018. Dr. Mary Christy retired Professor, Department of Botany, Women′s Christian College was the resource person. She gave a talk on "Know Your Identity". All the participants were benefited by the programme.

         The teaching faculty who are members of this Cell took turns available on all working days to give personal counselling to the students who are in need.

         An Individual Counselling was also given to the students who are inneed on all Thursdays between 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Dr. Adalyne George, the Rt. Professor of English Department gave this special counselling.

         Monthly ones, 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm, a class wise counselling was given to the students. Dr. Beula and Dr. Adalyne George, the retired Professors engaged this programme.
