Career Guidance Cell

The Career Guidance Cell aims its best to cater to the needs of students in the present scenario. It focuses in providing learning and training opportunities in academic, career, personal and social development of our students and moulds them to meet their future challenges. The Cell also organizes workshops and seminars on to enable the all round development of individuals.Eminent resource persons from various sectors and esteemed institutions are invited for providing training to the students.


Objectives

  • • Facilitate students to identify their own skills, interests and strengths and prepare them to face the challenges of life courageously.

  • • Create awareness regarding employment opportunities from government and private institutions around the globe.

  • • Arrange training programs on confidence building, communication skills and personality developments in order to cater the needs of the competitive world.

  • • Organize pre placement training programmes and conduct diagnostic tests for competitive exams to counsel them for higher studies.

  • • Enable the students engage themselves usefully during vacation and leisure time.

  • To create an awareness about job opportunities in banks, and in order to encourage our students to compete in the examinations, an awareness program on the importance of attending bank coaching classes and preparing for bank exams, was organized on 8-7-2015 to all the third year B.A, B. Sc and B.Com students. Staff members from one of the leading coaching centre in Nagercoil, Indian Institute of Banking (IIB) provided the necessary information. Regular coaching classes were conducted on all Wednesdays and nearly 50 students are attending the classes regularly. 2. Oscar Computer Education conducted competitive examination for all third year B.A, B.Sc and B.Com students and encouraged the winners by providing free coaching for competitive examinations. 3. An orientation program about ‘Entry in to Government Services’ was arranged to all second year B.A, B.Sc and B.Com students on 22-07-2015 by Jeyam Academy. 4. Spoken Hindi classes were conducted for the interested under graduate students on all Wednesdays and Saturdays. 5. Pre Placement Training classes were conducted by the staff members of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to enable our students to showcase their skills during interview. 40 students attended the classes regularly. 6. Lal and Lal IAS study circle, Chennai gave awareness about cracking IAS to all the third year B.A, B.Sc and B.Com students on 9-10-2015. 7. IAS coaching classes were conducted regularly on all Wednesdays for interested third year students . 8. Awareness about National Digital Literacy Mission was conducted on 15, 16 and 19th December 2015 for I Year, II Year and III Year students. 9. Awareness program on “Art of future making” was conducted for all UG and PG, Arts, Science and Commerce Students on 27-01-2016 by the members of Mumbai Win College.

  • Activities of the academic year 2014-2015


  • 1. Awareness program on the importance of attending bank coaching classes and preparing for bank exams, was organized on 10-7-2014 to all the third year B.A, B. Sc and B.Com students. Staff members from Indian Institute of Banking (IIB) provided the essential informations. Regular coaching classes are conducted on all Wednesdays and nearly 75 students are attending classes regularly.

  • 2 National Skill Development Course on Retail Management conducted by the Government of India was conducted for the third year B.A, B. Sc and B.Com students. More than 300 students interestingly studied the course and on- line examination was conducted. Certificates were issued to the students who cleared the examination.

  • 3. Lalandlal IAS study circle, Chennai gave awareness about cracking IAS to all the third year B.A, B.Sc and B.Com students.

  • 4. Pre Placement Training classes are conducted by staff members of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to enable our students to showcase their skills during interview. 30 students are attending the classes regularly.

  • 5. Hindi classes are conducted regularly on all Wednesdays and Saturdays to help our students to cater to the needs of the day.

  • 6. Spoken English and Computer classes are conducted regularly for all the students on Thursdays and Fridays.
