    PERFORMANCE 2017 – 2018

    No country has a diversity of culture and expression as India and her people. Her deep rooted heritage is amply reflected in her architecture, literature, dance, drama, music and painting. The Art, Culture and Heritage Club of Women′s Christian College attempts to find ways to protect and promote Indian′s princeless heritage. To sustain and make art and culture relevant to the younger generation the club ensures that the youth appreciates and connects with the diverse and rich culture, heritage and arts.

    Pongal, the harvest festival of Tamilnadu was celebrated by Art, Culture and Heritage Club of Women′s Christian College and it was celebrated on 18 Jan, 2018. The principal of the college Dr. Nirmala Manuel presided over the function. The festival was celebrated in a way of expressing gratitude to the farming community. To give the setting more authenticity traditional dishes were prepared. Pongal and sugarcane were distributed among all the students and staff members. Contests and cultural programs formed part of the celebration. Students enthusiastically participated in the Pongal cum kollam competition. To rejoice in the charm of our tradition, games like tug of war, and ‘uriadithal’ were conducted. In the midst of all cheer and celebration prizes were distributed to the winners.
