Arts, Culture And Heritage Club

Description

The Arts, Culture and Heritage Club attempts to find ways to protect and promote India's priceless heritage, rich culture, native food and diverse arts. No other country except India has such a rich diversity of arts and culture in it's people. The deep rooted heritage is amply reflected in the architecture, literature, dance, music and painting.

Aim

To create awareness among the students regarding Art, culture and Heritage of our country and to motivate the younger generation to uphold cultural and tradition values.

Objectives

The Art, culture and Heritage club of Women's Christian college not only attempts to find ways to protect and promote India's priceless heritage but also to sustain and make effort to ensure that the youth appreciates and connects with the diverse and rich culture, heritage and arts.

Celebrations of the academic year 2022-2023

The Arts, Culture and Heritage club celebrates various festivals like, Tamilar Tirunal (Pongal), Onam, Government festivals. At Pongal celebration chief guests are invited, various competitions are conducted like rangoli, tug-of-war, debate, poem etc. Traditional dresses are worn by the students. Fruits, tubers, sugarcane and sweet pongal are distributed.

Picnic

Yearly once, the Arts, Culture and Heritage club organizes one day picnic to heritage places in Kanyakumari district.

Awareness Programme

The club conducted few awareness program like sidda medicine, immunity booster camp. In order to create an interest on stamp collection, an awareness meeting was conducted.

Competitions

To motivate the students to revive tradition folk forms various competitions are conducted. Inter collegiate competitions on villupattu, ooilattam, Kolattam, folk dance, folk song awareness song, preparing various traditional food competitions.
